Technology in the New Year

I wake up everyday thinking of how time flies so easily, yesterday is gone so fast and what did I accomplish?, Even the Christmas day we all wished to celebrate with family. As I look ahead next year well the diary once again being booked with so many meetings and commitments, not going without the thought of how do I manage the first phase of the new year calendar and field work all at the same time here comes the action phrase 'an assistant would do'. The idea of having a V-assistant would work nicely that means you don't have to deal with all the personal hullabaloo of human failures. Yea right!

This is the world we live in, always looking for new ways of satisfying our needs, right? It's Digital helping to bridge that gap?, where all we think about is fast delivery, ease of use, satisfaction, continuous everything as some would say. The internet of things has come to stay with everything being automated at the push of a button. Gartner states that in 2016 over 6.3 billion connected devices will be in use, a whopping 30% increase from previous predictions and half of most organisations will be spending over 1.6 billion dollars searching for new ways to improve infrastructure digitally.

Even the likes of YouTube, as demonstrated by the team at Lucidworks are now considering AI (artificial Intelligence) under machine learning environments giving users that ability of speedy speech search, This considerably improves the use of digital for our everyday needs. Uber has already transformed transportation, with its new pool system that's a step further to improving commuting in groups or in singular fashion. Mobile is also the next big thing and to be honest if as an organisation you aren't even considering going Mobile at this stage you are termed as being grossly digitally naive, should we even discuss about the new shift from desktops to mobile which pervasively proves the fast movement of customers data consumption. More than 74% of data will be consumed on mobile looking into 2016, dont take my word for it just check out the last 2015 report from smartinsights. What this means for your business is that if your content is not considering a more wider and targeted digital appproach, especially attracting traffic from various sources with mobile being pivotal with more relevance and optimised content, then your brand value will slide down the ranks bearing the brunt.

In 2016 its all about an increase in video rules, push notifications over email blasts, more interactive content, So what am I about this day? you don't want to be caught napping behind the global digital transformation as an Organisation. Marketers are struggling everyday to adapt to different technologies and tools that will improve their jobs and the lifecycle of their new and existing customers. Billions of dollars are being spent on research and software development to improve new digital tools that will aid a more automated life that we live in, so it is safe to say going digital is the best gift you want to arm your marketing strategy in 2016.

Don’t get caught up on the wrong side of the noise, choose the right strategy, get the right people and resources to drive this end to end thus reaping all the benefits in store. Happy Holidays

Go Digital in 2016.
